Isaiah 43:11-13 states;
"I alone am the Lord, the only one who can save you. I predicted what would happen and then I came to your aid. No foreign God has ever done this; you are my witnessess. I am God and always will be. No one can escape from my power; no one can change what I do."
In this scripture, found in Isaiah, God is talking to the people of Israel, they had committed idolatry and so he tells them that he is the only God and that he alone can save them.
The people of Israel had displeased God, the book of Jeremiah speaks extensively of this betrayal, and thus, God had decided to punish the people of the land if they did not turn from their evil ways.
He goes on to say that, unlike their idols, made out of gold and clay, he predicted the future and he helped them through their difficult times.
The people belived in their idols instead of God who had rescued them out of Egypt in the time of Moses.
He also says that he is the only God, thus he has complete control and no one else has control of the world but he.
Through this passage we see that God is our supreme ruler. There is only one God.
When we are saved, he is the one that saves us. When we are aided, he is the one who helps us.
When we are saved, he is the one that saves us. When we are aided, he is the one who helps us.
It was easy for the Israelites to see how God moved in their lives, he spoke through prophets and angels, but in this day and age, feeling God's presence and seeing his hand in our lives isn't easy, especially when we're facing tough situations.
But I've learnt that sometimes God uses others to bless us. A person may come to encourage you or maybe you'll hear a sermon on television or one may pop up on your youtube playlist that you needed to hear. Sometimes, it's the person that simply holds the door open for you to or the one who stops for you to cross the road.
God uses people like that, he sends those people your way and in acts of kindness, as small as they may seem, he blesses us.
Kindness is not a blessing that people often value, but that doesn't make it any less a blessing.
Sometimes we don't pay attention to these little things and perhaps you are someone who did something like this for another person and thought nothing of it, but you know, what if that small act of kindness was all the love that person had gotten that day? Think about it.
God may use you to help others and he may use others to help you, open your eyes and see his blessings.
A really good prayer to say is; "God, please reveal to me the ways in which you take care of me and love me today."
So, don't forget that God is the Supreme ruler; he alone is Lord and he is the only one who can save you.
