Day 17~ God Our Loving Father

In this world what need we dread?
Let us praise God our Father instead.
Be not ever afraid for times' endless sands,
Are all cradled masterfully in your Father's capable hands.

Today, let us reflect on God as our father.

This is a very special relationship for a person to have with God.
I say this because this type of relationship was unheard of in the old testament. In the old testament, in most cases, God was seen as King and Judge.

He led, fought and protected his people and when they went astray and would not turn from their evil ways, he would punish them for their sins.

The new testament, however, and the coming of Christ Jesus brought with it many beautiful discoveries regarding God and his love for the human race.

Also, light was shed on old testament beliefs and the relationship that we, as fellow human beings, should have with each other.

For example, Jesus taught us that nothing that enters the body can make it unclean because it is our heart that mattets most.
Mark 7:18-19

Also Jesus taught us to love each other and have mercy because we all sin and fall short of God's glory.

Now, Galatians 4:7 says;

"So then you are no longer a slave but a child. And since you are his child, God will give you all that he has for his children"

You are a child of the Most High God and he is your Father.

What more do you need? If the creator of the universe is your Father, you have everything you could possibly need!

God is the best Father you could have because he knows you better than anyone else. He knows what you're going through, he knows what you need. Not to mention he is in control of everything and everyone on planet Earth.

Do you really think that God would allow anything ultimately bad to happen to any of his precious children?
Certainly not!

Do you think that God would ever abandon you; his treasured child?
Absolutely not!

Do you truly believe that he will ever stop providing for you?
Never!

Matthew 6:26 reminds us that we need not worry about provision because God will provide for us. It says;

"Look at the birds: they do not plant seeds, gather a harvest and put it in barns; yet your father in heaven takes care of them!  Aren't you worth much more than birds?"

You are important to God because you belong to him. He created you. You are his masterpiece and he loves you!

Even if you don't completely understand it, God loves you and he wants you to trust in him.

And you need not worry, no one can take you away from him.

John 10: 26-28 tells us,

"My sheep listen to my voice; I know them and they follow me. I give them eternal life, and they shall never die. No one can snatch them away from me. What my father has given me is greater than everything, and no one can snatch them away from the Father's care."

So trust in God and believe in him, he is your Father. God is still your Father even if you have an Earthly Father and he is the Father of the Fatherless. God is the perfect Father. He loves you and he wants to love you forever.

The question is, will you be his child?
