Day 13~ Our God who Sets the Time for Everything
In life, sometimes, we want whatever we desire to happen immediately.
It may be that we wish to accomplish our dreams and goals faster, or that we wish to meet the man or woman of our dreams earlier, perhaps we wish that we could reap the fruits of our labor faster.
Somehow, there never seems to be a short wait when it comes to the things our hearts truly desire.
However, God has set a time for everything.
Ecclesiastes 3: 1-8 says;
"Everything that happens in this world happens at the time God chooses.
He sets the time for Birth and the time for death, the time for planting and the time for pulling up, the time for killing and the time for healing, the time for tearing down and the time for building.
He sets the time for sorrow and the time for joy, the time for mourning and the time for dancing, the time for making love and the time for not making love, the time for kissing and the time for not kissing.
He sets the time for finding and the time for losing, the time for saving and the time for throwing away, the time for tearing and the time for mending, the time for silence and the time for talk.
He sets the time for love and the time for hate, the time for war and the time for peace."
Our God has everything planned out and in the right time, when everything is ready, he will bring you into the season he has been preparing for you.
Eclesiastes reminds us that God has set a time for everything.
You must trust in God, knowing that he has your life in his very capable hands.
Imagine if you rushed for your dreams to come true but if you had waited until God's perfect timing, you might have met the person of your dreams.
Or maybe, you rush into a relationship with someone only to find out that that person is an unfaithful partner.
Wouldn't you prefer to wait for God's perfectly planned time?
Well, maybe you've been waiting for years for this to come to pass, so long now, that you're losing hope that it will ever happen.
Don't quit. Some of the Bible's most celebrated heros have had to wait, just like you.
Joseph, the son of Jacob, waited 10 years before being released from prison.
David waited 15 years on the run before being crowned king of Israel.
Abraham waited 100 years for his promised son.
And I'm sure if you were to speak to any of these men they would tell you that the wait wasn't easy, but the reward; the reward was worth the wait!
Jacob became second only to the king of Egypt, David is still called a man after God's own heart and Abraham, no doubt would say that being able to hold a child of his own in his arms was the most impossible, yet amazing thing he had ever done.
You see, sometimes God makes us wait, not only to teach us to keep having faith in him, sometimes, it's so that when we make it to the place that his promise guides us to, we will realize that his plans were greater than our own.
So today, I want to encourage you to trust in God's timing, he knows what he's doing, and when you get to your 'promised land' you'll realize that God is greater, stronger and wiser than you could ever fathom.
Your wait will bring glory and honor to God in ways greater than you could believe. So keep on hoping and keep on believing because he's not finished with you yet. The Almighty, Powerful, Living God is on your side, you will accomplish your dreams, you will reach your goals and he will not ever fail you!
