Listen to Him

As you may already know, Wednesday, the 5th of March, marked the start of the Lenten season 2014. Lent is a time of penance when we make sacrifices to our king and master just like Jesus did in the Judaean dessert.

As we reflect for these forty days of Lent we tend to remember God's grace, mercy and love as he sent his only son to die so that we could enter into his kingdom, as John 3:16 states "For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son that whosoever believes in him shall not perish but have everlasting life."
During this Lenten season, I want to encourage you to also remember this scripture taken from the gospel according to St Matthew chapter 17 verse 5 which states "This is my beloved son with whom I am well pleased, listen to him."
The last three words are probably the most disregarded words yet they are the most important, "listen to him." This lent, I ask that during your time of pray and fast that you remember to listen to the voice of our Lord Jesus Christ as he guides you along the right path for your life. God is fighting for you, a battle that you can help him win if you would take the time to simply listen.
