Day 10- Don't Worry

Life is rough, there I said it; life is rough and none of us are going to get out alive. So why is it that we worry so much?

We worry about our schedules and whether we're going to get where we need to be on time, we worry about our deadlines, we worry about our futures and whether our dreams are ever going to come to pass, we worry about whether we will ever get married and have a family or when we get married we worry if our relationships are good or whether we'll be able to pay the bills and the list goes on.

Why do we worry so much, Matthew 6:27 states "Can any one of you, by worrying add a single hour to  your life?" In effect this scripture is asking, are you going to get anything worthwhile from worrying?

The truth is that sometimes we spend so much time worrying, we forget to enjoy our lives. We forget that we have no control over the universe and no matter what we do or how much we worry we may not be able to change anything, so all we end up doing is stressing ourselves unnecessarily.

God can protect you from every thing you're scared about. 1 Peter 5:7 reminds us "Cast all your worries and cares to God, for he cares for you."

It's good to be cautious and plan for the future but worrying never gets us far. So always remember that every minute you worry you lose 60 seconds of happiness and try to worry less from today.
