What would you reply if I asked "Who are you?"
Formalities aside, you may start by saying, 'Well my name is.....'
But that's not who you are, that's your name.
You might say, 'I'm a ....' and tell me your occupation.
But that's not who you are, that's your profession.
Perhaps you might tell me 'I'm going to be....' and tell me your future plans
But that's not who you are, those are your aspirations.
You may respond, 'Well, I'm a male/female who is ...... years'
But that's not who you are, that's your gender and age.
Who are you really? When you strip away everything; your name, your occupation, your relationships, your dreams, your gender and age, who will you be? Who are you?
The answer is this, you are God's most treasured possession Deuteronomy 7:6
You are God's incredible work of art Ephesians 2:10
You are a temple of the Holy Spirit 1 Corinthians 6:19
You are a citizen of heaven Philippians 3:20
You are a child of the most high God, you are an heir Romans 8:17
We all need to know who we are, from the very young to the elderly because it is in knowing who we are that our purpose is revealed.
So always remember who you are when life gets discouraging because you are more precious that you could ever dream or imagine!
