"The Feet That Wait for God are Soonest at the Goal"

Joseph did it for 10 years;
David, for 15 years;
Moses did it for 40 years and Abraham for 100 years,
What did they do you ask? They waited.

Joseph waited in a jail cell for 10 years before being released, David was on the run for 15 years, Moses was kept in the dessert for 40 years, Abraham had to wait 100 years for his promised child. What are you waiting for?

Sometimes God makes us wait for the things that we want to our great horror. He is the God of all the Earth, all powerful, he could give us what we ask for in a millisecond but most times instead of just giving us what we ask for he makes us wait for it.

Why does God make us wait? Why does he make us wait when we desperately want something? Well if we asked Joseph, David, Moses or Abraham they may all tell us the same thing; he did it in order to make their test into their testimony.

God has to test our faith. Waiting is a trial.
1 Peter 1:7 puts it this way "These trials will show that your faith is genuine. It is being tested as fire tests and purifies gold--though your faith is far more precious than mere gold. So when your faith remains strong through many trials, it will bring you much praise and glory and honor on the day when Jesus Christ is revealed to the whole world."

When God makes you wait, it isn't to punish you, it's actually to make you stronger in him, it's to make you trust in him and to promote you higher through your faith. He wants to make you victorious!

God is no less himself in 2014 than he was 2014 years ago. He is still the same God who created the universe, the same God who put the stars in place, flattened mountains and parted seas, and he loves you and wants to be to you what he was for David, Joseph, Moses and Abraham. Have Faith and Know that your Father is the King over all the Earth and he still had a great plan for you.

So on that note my challenge for you today is to be still and know that he is God.

"Haste not my heart, have faith in God and wait, although he seems to linger long, he never comes too late"- Bradford Torrey
